Industry Specific ComplianceThe All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) on June 04, 2026, issued a notice regarding verification of the AICTE approval status of an institution.

The following has been stated:-

•The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has advised students, parents, and stakeholders to verify the approval status of technical institutions through its official website before seeking admission. 

•AICTE approval is mandatory for institutions offering technical education programmes, except for universities, which are exempt under the AICTE Act, 1987 and the Supreme Court's Bharathidasan University judgment. 

•AICTE also maintains and publishes a list of unapproved institutions and regularly directs such institutions to obtain approval or discontinue unauthorized programmes. State Governments have been requested to take action against institutions operating without approval. 

•Stakeholders have been cautioned against taking admission in unapproved institutions and encouraged to report any such cases to AICTE.
